Prophecies and Signs of Jesus' Coming

Mat 24:36-39 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Noah knew before God’s flood came, it was the sinners who knew nothing about what was going to happen just like Lot’s sons-in-law. Many Christians are this way today. God told Noah 7 days before his wrath was to be poured out in Gen 7:1-4. God also had Noah put up food for that time (Gen 6:21-22 and Matt 24:45-46)

Zephaniah 2:3 3 Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
   perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord’s anger.

Zephaniah 1:14-16

The great day of the Lord is near—
   near and coming quickly.
The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter;
the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry.
15 That day will be a day of wrath—
a day of distress and anguish,
a day of trouble and ruin,
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness—
16     a day of trumpet and battle cry
against the fortified cities
   and against the corner towers.

We are with God the same year, the same month, and the same day’

Mark 13:26-27 26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.

We are in the clouds with the witnesses when God’s wrath is poured out.

2 Thess 2:2-4 2 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

Jesus tells us that before He returns there will be a rebellion and Satan (the man of lawlessness) will be come claiming "peace and safety"

Matt 24:22 "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Rev 9:5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way for that day will not come until Satan stands in the temple claiming to be God.

Satan's time will be shortened to from 3 1/2 years to 5 months. After the 5 months Satan will kill the two witnesses.

Matt 24:3-4 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.

Jesus knows what prophecies will happen before He returns and so do we, Jesus tells in the Bible. (Matt 24:4-35) Jesus also states the same as 2 Thess 2:3-4

Matt 24:15 15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—

Daniel 9:27 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

Satan will be in the temple until God pours out the 7 bowls of His wrath.

Rev 8:13 13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”

The 3 woes in Rev are the 5th, 6th, and 7th trumpets in Rev.

I believe we are in the 4th trumpet we have 3 woes to Armageddon.

Rev 11:7 7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Rev 11:11-13 11 But after the three and a half days the breath[b] of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The witnesses lie in the street for 3 ½ days. Jesus comes in the clouds at the end of the 3rd day and will gather us up in the clouds at the 6th trumpet the 2nd woe. At the end of the 2nd woe the 2 witnesses go up into the clouds. In the next hour there is an earthquake that kills 7000.

Rev 18:10 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
   you mighty city of Babylon!
In one hour your doom has come!’

Woe, woe is the end of the 6th and the 7th trumpet it is all over in 1 hour.

The 6th trumpet is over. Babylon has begun to fall.

Rev 11:15 15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

The last trumpet the last woe the last bowls of God’s wrath is finished in about 45 minutes

Rev 11:19 19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

Rev 16:17 17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

Luke 21:27-28 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

This prophecy is important to us and to Israel. We should lift our heads and give Him glory for He is in the clouds.

Gen 19:14-15 14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry[a] his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished

Lots sons-in-law did not believe the angel that prophesied or Lot and they too suffered God’s wrath on Sodham.

Gen 19:26 26 But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Luke 17:30-32 30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot’s wife!

If we are not outside on the day of Jesus’ return with our heads up—we might be left.

In the middle of the final 7 yrs when Satan is in the temple, we need to be looking for Jesus. Not worrying about our worldly possession like Lot’s wife.

Mat 13:28-30 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

First God will separate the weeds (evil people) and burn them. Then God gathers the wheat (believers/sheep) and brings it into the clouds. We do not want to be the weeds.

Ephesians 5:14 "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light."

Rev 3:1 "To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

2 Thess 2:3-4 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

Rev 11:11-12 11 But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them.

There is no scripture that says we will be removed before the final 7 years or that Jesus returns more than once.

Jesus is in the clouds one time and the 2 witnesses are killed one time.

The last signs before Jesus returns

Conclusions:

  • The 7 year peace treaty will mark the final 7 yrs (shortened to 3 yrs and 11 months) before Jesus’ return. We should celebrate when it is signed.

  • Mark of the Beast

  • Satan will stand in the temple claiming to be God

  • Jesus comes at the end of the 3rd day beginning of the 4th day after the witnesses are killed and the this is the 6th trumpet (Zephaniah 2:1-3)

  • The dead in Christ are gathered first.

  • We will be gathered to the clouds at the end of the 6th the same day as the witnesses are raised. (Rev 11:12)

  • The 5th trumpet is the peace treaty and begins the last 7 years (which God shortened Matt 24:22, Rev 9:5)

  • The 6th trumpet is ½ day long Rev 13 end of the 6th trumpet. And the beginning of God’s wrath.

  • The 7th trumpet we are changed in the twinkling of an eye AT THE LAST TRUMP. (1 Cor 15:52)

  • Babylon falls in one hour. (Rev 15:10)

  • These are the last prophecies before Jesus’ return. We can look up a see Him in the clouds.  Satan kills the 2 witnesses they are dead for 3 ½ days the sun will be darkened and moon will not give its light. (Mark 13:23)

  • Prophecy is God’s timeline and we should celebrate their fulfillment.
